Once upon a time there was a story of a princess in West Java named Dayang Sumbi.

At first she was weaving a cloth but once a strand of thread fell to the floor, because Dayang Sumbi seemed to be busy and lazy to pick it up, so she said "who will get the threads then if the woman will consider her as my own sister but if it's a man then I will marry"

   

   Unexpectedly, it turned out that there was a royal dog named Tumang who took it, with a heavy heart (it seems) Sumbi's power kept her promise and she married a dog named Tumang. The results of their second marriage have resulted in the birth of a son named Sangkuriang, Dayang Sumbi from the beginning did not find out the truth about the real father of Sangkuriang to his child.

   

   Sangkuriang grew up healthy and cheerful, one time Dayang Sumbi asked him to get an animal from the forest, but because the animal was asked to be not easy to find, Sangkuriang decided to kill Tumang and give the meat to his mother. At first Dayang Sumbi did not know that the meat was Tumang's meat.

   

   When Dayang Sumbi found out the truth about the meat, Dayang Sumbi became angry with Sangkuriang and hit his head with a vegetable spoon, for what she had done, she was expelled from the kingdom. Years later he was reunited with her son Sangkuriang, they both fell in love with each other because they didn't know each other the truth.


   Not long after their meeting, Sangkuriang immediately proposed to the beautiful woman and he accepted it, but finally Dayang Sumbi knew the truth of what had happened so she looked for a way to prevent the marriage from taking place.


   She got an idea, which was to ask Sangkuriang to build a dam and a boat to explore the lake there in one night. Sangkuriang agreed to the request and immediately helped along with other astral beings


  Worried that Sangkuriang could complete his request, Dayang Sumbi did some dangerous things, when her itinerary went according to plan, Sangkuriang got angry and started to make his ship flip over on the lake. Then until now the mountain that looks like the best boat is named Tangkuban Perahu
